Stember — Terms of Service

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Plain-language terms for a small indie app. Not legal advice.

1. Agreement

By downloading, signing in to, or using Stember, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Who provides the service

Stember is operated by Arcane Dream Lab, an indie developer. Contact: arcanedreamlab@gmail.com

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Stember. The app includes user-generated content and direct messaging. By using Stember, you confirm you meet this age requirement.

4. What Stember is

Stember is a platform for indie builders to share projects, receive feedback, and communicate. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time as a small product evolves.

5. Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for your account and for activity under it. Keep your device secure. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

6. Public content and visibility

Stember is designed so that information you publish (profile, active projects, comments, and similar) is visible to other signed-in users. You choose what to post. Do not post content you do not want others in the app to see.

An optional public contact email exists only in Settings. It is empty by default. If you fill it in, you agree that other signed-in users may see that address.

Browsing or aggregating publicly visible profiles or projects inside the app is expected use, not a “leak” of private data we hid from you.

7. Your content and licence

You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and process it solely to operate Stember (including backups and moderation). You confirm you have the rights to post your content and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post illegal, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content
  • Impersonate others or mislead users
  • Spam, scrape, or automate abuse of the service
  • Attempt to break security, rules, or other users' privacy
  • Use Stember for malware, fraud, or unauthorized advertising

9. Moderation

We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community. Users can report and block others. We are not obliged to monitor all content in real time.

10. Messages

Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Use them at your own discretion. We may process messages to operate the service and handle abuse reports as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Ads

Stember may show ads (e.g. Google AdMob). Ad partners process data under their own policies. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings.

12. Disclaimer

Stember is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of user content, or specific outcomes for your projects.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arcane Dream Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for user content or actions of other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to Stember is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the last 12 months (which is zero for the free app).

14. Termination

You may stop using Stember and delete your account in Settings. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms. Sections that should survive (licence, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may be communicated in the app or on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, where allowed by law.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Arcane Dream Lab as an EU-based indie developer, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country still apply where required.
